The Cranford Film Festival (CFF) is a fundraiser for Cranford Schools Friends of Performing Arts (FOPA), a 501c3 non-profit organization that supports performing arts programs in the Cranford school district. The festival has earmarked all proceeds from ticket sales, donations, and sponsorships to benefit FOPA.
Over the last several years, the money FOPA raised has paid for new chairs for the music department, a new stage curtain, guest artists to teach classes, tickets for our students to attend shows and events, shared camera equipment for all ensembles, new spotlights, strip lights and a lighting console for the CHS Auditorium. Most recently, we contributed to the school’s purchase of a trailer to help transport and store many of the band’s instruments. FOPA paid for participation fees for the choir to perform at Carnegie Hall. Additionally, we expanded our reach to the middle schools and funded costumes for the school play, and music stands. We’ve totaled over $45,000 in money spent to either fully fund or contribute to the purchase of these items with the money raised through your generosity.
Over the past four years, CSFOPA has raised more than $25,000 which has helped to fund the new stage curtain in the high school auditorium, a xylophone for the band, a drum set for the jazz band, a master class for the chorus, a conductor's stand, tents for outdoor classrooms for the middle schools, field trips and more. The organization also advocates for greater funding for the performing arts budget.
